Quds Day Rally - Press Release

New York City
August 17, 2012

Anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews Participate in Al-Quds Day Rallies in Many Major Cities

On August 17, 2012, rallies were held in many major cities worldwide to commemorate the International Al-Quds Day. This day is designated by many Muslim communities as a day of remembering Quds (Jerusalem), the entire Palestine, and the catastrophe and calamity that was brought upon them with the creation of the State of Israel.

Rabbis of Neturei Karta International were invited as guest speakers in many locations, including New York City, Dallas TX, Seattle WA, Atlanta GA, Los Angeles CA, Chicago IL, Toronto Canada, London England and Berlin Germany.

The Rabbis delivered a message of total solidarity with the suffering people of Palestine and condemnation against the crimes done to them.

Rabbi Dovid Feldman in his speech in Los Angeles CA said: "We are embarrassed by these acts committed in our name, and humiliated that this was done in the name of our religion. We apologize for the injustice done to the Palestinian people, for the tragedy that has befallen Palestine and Quds, Jerusalem."

Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss in his speech in Seattle WA said: "The crimes committed against the Palestinian people by the State of Israel are in violation of Jewish law, which teaches compassion and mercy. But even if they were not to commit any crime against others, it would still be forbidden."

Rabbi Weiss went on to explain: "According to Jewish belief, Jews are in a Divinely decreed exile and are forbidden to create a State of their own. In violating this, the Zionists are going against basic Judaism."

It was also made clear that recent Zionist threats against Iran are to be condemned; such provocative talk does not represent the opinion of world Jewry.

Rabbi Joel Glauber said in his speech in New York City: "The Torah requires of Jews to live in peace with all people and not to take any political actions against other nations."

Rabbi Amrom Rosenberg in his speech in Dallas TX said: "As we speak, large numbers of Orthodox Jews in the Holy Land are being imprisoned for their refusal to serve in the Israeli army. Mass demonstrations against the Israeli army are being held on the streets of Jerusalem."

The banners displayed by the Rabbis read: "The Torah demands freedom for Jerusalem and all Palestine", "Judaism rejects Zionism and the State of Israel" and "Judaism condemns Zionist provocation against Iran".

NKI is a nonprofit religious organization committed to publicizing the viewpoint of masses of anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews worldwide, who strongly oppose the State of Israel and its actions. NKI travels around the word to attend rallies and conferences and to speak on many occasions on the topic of Zionism versus Judaism.
